Joseph "Erap" Estrada Concedes to Noynoy Aquino

Former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada formally concedes to President-elect Noynoy Aquino minutes before the proclamation of Aquino as the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines. Senator Jinggoy Estrada reads the statement after filling a motion of parliamentary inquiry.

"I now call on our people to rally behind President-elect, Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III... I am confident that President-elect Noynoy Aquino will fulfill his campaign promises," Erap says on his statement

Estrada says that he is offering his help to the Aquino administration and hopes that his leadership will be a fruitful one and will be something the poor can look forward to. The statement also include point that Estrada wants to share about the "unjust" unseating of Estrada during his presidency.

Erap Estrada also thanks all those who have supported him and says that he will never ever abandon the poor from his humble roots as an actor up to his triumph as a President and into the darkest hour of his life. He also called on the new set of leaders to look into the said irregularities in elections so that this can be prevented on the next election to come. He says that the country needs a genuine clean and honest elections.

The former president received more than 8 million votes during the May 10, 2010 elections. He is the closest rival of President-elect Noynoy Aquino and hence sends a message that indeed the Filipino people is still charmed by Erap.
