Smallville Season 10 Announced by CW

CW had officially announced that they will indeed have Smallville Season 10. This makes Smallville the longest running comic-book based TV series ever. The announcement was made by CW, March 4, 2010

Smallville Season 10 will also be placed on the Guinness World Record for longest consecutive running US Sci-Fi TV show. This record currently belongs to Stargate SG-1.

So far not all of the casts were contracted yet. Among the casts from the previous season, Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Cassidy Freeman, Callum Blue, and Justin Hartley are the only ones contracted.

CW also announces that Smallville Season 10 will be composed of 22 episodes and will explore a relatively new plot in the storyline of Superman. Smallville Season 10 might or might not be seeing Allison Mack playing as Chloe, however executive producer Brian Peterson is optimistic that she will be back.

Smallville airs it pilot episode October 16, 2001 and since then it had become a phenomenon. Smallville is a modern retelling of the legend of superman and stars Tom Welling as Clark Kent. It is ranked as network television's number 1 in primetime among men 18-34 and 18-49.

With Smallville at CW it had improved the CW ratings in its Friday 8:00-9:00p.m. by a huge 67% among adults 18-34 (1.5/6), 200% in men 18-34 (1.8/7), 75% in adults 18-49 (1.4/5), 183% in men 18-49 (1.7/6) and 74% in total viewers (3.12million).

Smallville Season 10 will begain airing this fall at the same time slot. However, before Smallville Season 10 airs fans are expected to see a good cliffhanger in the ending of Smallville Season 9.
