Earth's Amazing View from the International Space Station


Earth's captivating video had been given a new perspective by fresh photos from the International Space Station. Astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson shares some eye catching photos of the Earth as he gazes down at our planet through the window of the Cupola window bay aboard International Space Station.

One image that was taken shows the luminiscent lights of Cairo and Alexandria in Egypt and also that of the Mediterranean coast and the towns along the Nile River. The new perspective and view of the Earth shows the progress of civilization and how our planet looks at night.

Tracy Caldwell Dyson was a Mission Specialist on SPace Shuttle Endeavor flight STS-118 in August 2007. Tracy was also part of the Expedition 24 crew on the International Space Station between April 4, 2010 and September 25, 2010. During this tenure she had captured what would be some of the most spectacular photos of the Earth.
