Paraguay vs Japan, a match which had been tense and very intense but in the end the perfect goal shooting of Paraguay aided them to win against Japan 5-3 in the penalty shootout. The game held at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria with a total attendance of 36,742 is so far the longest game for World Cup 2010, also it is the first ever shootout match of the cup.

Both Japan and Paraguay had indeed made a good defense and offense. There had been good chances for both teams to make a goal but every time they took that, the defender was there waiting for the attack. During the long 120 minutes some were already impatient about the score. This impatience was evident when Japan's fans sounded a loud cheer to boast their team.

Japan was fueled by their burning desire not only as a Japanese team but as the only sole surviving team and last hope for Asia to advance to the quarterfinals. But it had not been a lucky day for the team. They have guarded the whole 120 minutes only to lose in such a passion was way devastating.
