Green Tuesday: Education for Sustainable Development is a Must for All

Climate Change, Peace and Human Rights, Entrepreneurship, Education and Technology and Sustainable Lifestyle are just some of the issues that are part of Sustainable Development but why care for these issues. The term was used by the Brundtland Commission which coined what has become the most often-quoted definition of sustainable development as development that "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Do we really need Sustainable Development? Yes indeed we do because we cannot just think of satisfying human wants today and forget about the future. We are the safe keepers of the next generation and it is our duty to assure them that they will always have an Earth and a life that will bring happiness and meaning to them.

That is why the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) had launched the United Nations Decade on Education for Sustainable Development from 2005 to 2014.
