According to a fact check made by Rappler the claim that, "he Philippine government will impose a nationwide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) – the strictest lockdown status – from December 23, 2020, until January 3, 2021, amid the coronavirus pandemic," is false.

This fakes news being spread through text messages and social media had already been categorically dismissed by government officials as well.  Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, and National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 spokesperson Restituto Padilla Jr all dismissed the rumors.
