The Social Network: A Movie About Facebook (with latest Theatrical Trailer)

Have you ever wondered how Facebook started? How did a social network site which we love today and caused many to abandon Friendster and Myspace happen? Well, your questions will be answered for on October 1, 2010 the movie "The Social Network" will answer all your questions.

The Social Network will reveal how a Harvard student named, Mark Zuckerberg. He came up with an idea in October 2003 about a website called Facemash, this was the predecessor of Facebook. Facemash features whos hot or not in Harvard. Later on however, the need for an online directory where people can interact and exchange ideas, photos and others become necessary.

Then, on February 4, 2004, Zuckerberg launched "Thefacebook", which we will later all get to know as "Facebook." The original url of the website was thefacebook.com. Thefacebook's original intention was only to serve Harvard community but later on the community grew until it reached the international community on September 26, 2006. That time Facebook opened its doors to everyone of ages 13 and older with a valid e-mail address.

Today, Facebook has about 400 million users and is still increasing. The first ever hits received by its predecessor was 22,000 during its first four hours of launching.
