2010 FIFA World Cup Finals: Spain vs Netherlands

2010 FIFA World Cup Finals: Netherlands vs Spain - The stage is set, the teams are ready, the fans are preparing to get to Soccer City, Johannesburg and fans around the world will be glued to their TV screens. The time for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals is 14:30 EDT, 2:30am Eastern time and 7:30pm South African time.

Paul the Octopus have already predicted yesterday that Spain will win in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals, but for sure Netherlands will not allow an Octopus to ruin their third shot at becoming the World Cup Champions.

Google itself is excited for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals and it even highlighted the finals in its homepage through the famous Google Doodle.

Netherlands had lost their previous two FIFA World Cup Finals, one in 1974 against West Germany and another in 1978 against Argentina. Back then Total Football was a trend and Ajax had dominated Europe for three years, however, Total Football came short of delivering a championship for Holland.

Spain has every reason to win the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals/ They have the strongest players ever assembled coming from the best European teams, Real Madrid and Barcelona. They have David Villa who's goal scoring strategy had become famous in this World Cup. Then, there's Xavi who had been declared the best play maker in worldwide football.

Spain also has Carlos Puyol who delivered the game winning goal for Spain against Germany. Add to the line up, Iker Casillas whose goal defense is superior and unmatched, plus the silent yet might explode tonight, Fernando Torres.

Netherlands had Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder on their side. Bot Robben and Sneijder had an accumulated seven goals in the tournament and they might increase that number today during the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals.

Sneijder had something of record at stake in this 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals. For someone wo had already won titles in the Italian league, Italian Cup and Champions League with club team Inter Milan this season, a win in the World Cup 2010 will earn him a great achievement in football history. So far only Brazilian great Pele has accomplished winning four championship trophies when in 1962 he won Sao Paulo league, Brazil Cup, Copa Libertadores and World Cup.

Netherlands wants to give greatness back to Total Football and claim their first ever championship and Spain wants also to prove their power and claim their first ever championship. This will surely be a historic and exciting 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals.
