Earth Caravan for WCYF Continue to Map Road to WCYF in May

WCYF Earth Caravan Series of Earth Caravans are steadily being made as part of the road map to the formal conduct of the World Creative Youth Forum (WCYF) 2009 in May. The most recent Earth Caravan are the Kamayan Forum on March 20 which focused on the topic of "Can Youth Energy and Creativity Save the Environment?" The Kamayan Forum is a monthly event held every third Sunday of the month to focus on vital issues concerning the environment. Another recent cravan is also conducted at the Perpetual Help College of Laguna in coordination with Ms. Racquel Tabaday organizer of the Environmental Trainers Organization.

The Kamayan Forum was attended by various youth organizations as well as veteral faces in environmental issues. Noel Orate of AMA Computer University and a representative from the youth of Pateros was also present. Adding greater flavor to the forum is the presence of Mr. Alex Lacson, author of 12 Little Things A Filipino Can Do.

On the other hand, the Earth Caravan in Laguna caters to about 100 high school students from Perpetual Help College. Interactive activities and a film showing was also done. At the end of the program the students were more aware of environmental issues particularly that on Climate Change. They have also bowed to be active and involved in actions for the earth. Ms. Tabaday is part of the formal delegation to WCYF 2009.
