World Creative Youth Forum (WCYF) 2009 Extends Application for Participants

ADVOCACY SATURDAY: The World Creative Youth Forum (WCYF) 2009, an event focusing on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and is now officially supported and endorsed by UNESCO had just extended their Call for Applicants until January 31, 2009. The application was particularly extended for regions including Europe, North America, South America, Asia and the Philippines. Applications for Africa was however closed due to a huge number which already applied. WCYF 2009 is happening in the Philippines on May 5-10 at the University of the Philippines National Center for Politics and Governance.

The announcement at the site reads:

  • Philippine Submission of Application is EXTENDED UNTIL JANUARY 31, 2009. When applying please indicate your REGION to be represented. We are particularly looking for applicants beyond NCR, Cebu City and Zamboanga City. (APPLY HERE)
  • International Submission of Application is EXTENDED UNTIL JANUARY 31, 2009. Extension however EXCLUDES AFRICA due to overwhelming number of applicants. (APPLY HERE)
  • We would also like to inform everyone that TRANSPORTATION INCLUDING INTERNATIONAL AIRFARE, VISA AND INSURANCE ARE NOT COVERED BY THE EVENT (except airfare for 2 Applicants each from Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darrusalam and Timor Leste which is sponsored by UNESCO Jakarta). The participant will have to pay for these costs plus the REGISTRATION FEE OF US$50 (Php2,000).
