Burma Military Government Releases Aung San Suu Kyi

In a bid to show the world that Burma's Military Junta is on the verge of respecting human rights, they have decided to finally release Aung San Suu Kyi from house arrest. Aung San Suu Kyi is a known human rights and freedom fighter in Burma and had long opposed the continued leadership of the Military Junta.

However, Aung San Suu Kyi's husband, Nyi Nyi Aung seemed unimpressed. During an interview with CNN he expressed his skepticism on the release of the woman who has inspired him in his two-decade-long struggle. Nyi-Nyi is now a resident of the Washington Area in the United States.

“We are planning to stand by [Suu Kyi],” he said. “But we need everyone to keep up the pressure,” as Nyi-Nyi calls for a stricter watch on Myanmar's regime. The news of Aung San Suu Kyi's released was welcomed by supporters from around the globe as the good news broke out Saturday.
