The game was briefly halted and Perkins was escorted by his team mates to the locker room. Later on he had his knee X-rayed revealing that indeed he suffered from a right knee injury. The doctor examining Perkins said that he was yet unsure on how extensive is Perkins injury and will re-evaluate him later Wednesday.
However, Perkins in an interview just as he exited the locker room was very determined to play for Game 7. "I will try and give it a go," Perkins said to ESPN's Richh Bucher who caught up with him in the locker room.
Unlike the injured player, Celtics coach Doc Rivers was bot as optimistic, “It doesn’t look great, but I don’t know.”
Boston Celtics who was really swat like flies by the Lakers during Game 6 needs all the firepower and support they can for the crucial do-or-die Game 7 and without Perkins this would be a very difficult job.
