End Hunger Walk the World 2011 at SM Mall of Asia on May 29

What would you usually do on a Sunday? Go on a picnic with your family? Join a cosplay convention? Playb DOTA wit your friends? Go to your girlfriend or boyfriends house? What if you can make a difference one Sunday, just for P250? What if you could help end hunger for just about 2-4 hours of your time on a Sunday? Wouldn't that be one of your greatest achievement in your life?

On Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the SM Mall of Asia, IMAX Parking lot thousand of people will once again converge and participate in the "End Hunger, Walk the World 2011." Participants will be joining the 2K walk, 5K run and 10K run respectively for one purpose... to help end hunger and feed hungry children in Mindanao.

UN World Food Program which heads the project and is headed by Stephen Anderson, Country Director and Representative for the Philippines aims to raise a minimum of P80,000. This amount will be used for the school feeding program composed mostly of high energy foods. The WFP is also targeting 450,000 food meals this year supported by 22 sponsors.

"It's better you do something, than sitting doing nothing," says Flow Galindez, a fellow blogger and host during the End Hunger Walk the World launching at Pizza Hut Park Square 1 in Makati City. Pizza Hut will be requesting 200 of their employees to join the event on the 29th.

The launching which was also dubbed as a "Bloggers Night" was attended by Cyril Gonzales, CSR Manager - Phil. Pizza Inc.; Stephen Anderson, Country Director and Representative - World Food Program; Bajeng Cruz, Sr. Brand Manager for Knorr - Uniliver Philippines Inc.; and Cecilia Casas, Country HR Director - TNT Express Worldwide.

Walk the World was founded in 2003. This will be its 8th year worldwide and the 4th year in the Philippines. Walk the World was able to raise some 46 Million Euros already.

"Start building a better future everyday," says Bajeng Cruz of Uniliver and indeed through this event we can do that.

WFP and its partners are passionate about taking action on this important issue and believe that everyone can help by joining Walk the World Pilipinas as a step towards ending hunger.
