Metro Manila Film Festival 2010: Shake, Rattle and Roll 12

Shake, Rattle and Roll 12 is the only movie among the Metro Manila Film Festival 2010 entries that we have managed to watch due to the long ques during Christmas Day. This movie was among the top grossers in this years MMMFF and we can see why. Regal Films never fails to instill shock and awe in the Shake, Rattle and Roll series. The movie gross 29.1 million in just 4 days.

The movie failed to get any awards in the MMFF 2010 but we can say that watching the movie is worth it. Among the three stories in Shake, Rattle and Roll XII we like "Punerarya" the most since it's ending story offers a non-predictable twist.

Shake, Rattle and Roll XII feature three stories which includes Mamanyika which is the story of an evil doll found by a young girl. The doll presents herself as a replacement to their mother which had just died through an accident.

The second story is entitled "Isla" and revolves around the Philippine folklore of Engkanto and "Lambana". The story tells us of how the Engkanto will try to possess a beautiful girl and do everything in its power to claim her as his own.

The third and last story, "Punerarya" also revolves around the Philippine folklore on "Aswang". In this story however, the Aswang seems to have changed and just managed to eat the dead and in addition Carlo who serves as the head of the family wants to give education to the next generation of Aswang. Carlo gets the service of a tutor in the person of Carla Avellana.

Three worthwhile stories which everyone would surely be happy to have watched. We are sure that Regal Films is already preparing for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2011 with Shake, Rattle and Roll XIII.
