Oprah Winfrey Re-airs The Sound of Mucis Cast Reuinion

The Sound of Music cast reunited at the Oprah Winfrey Show, October 2010 and since this is Oprah's last season, they are re-airing the favorite episodes of the season. The Sound of Music Cast reunion was one of the episodes that received the highest audience rating and it featured the full cast of the movie musical which was first released in 1965.

Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer was the main stars in the black and white film. The Sound of Music was based on the 1959 Broadway Musical written by Rodgers & Hammerstein. The musical won six Tony Awards including Best Musical while the film won the Oscar for Best Picture.

The Sound of Music is now available in a restored Blu-ray/DVD, soundtrack and Limited Edition Gift Box sets at leading stores worldwide. The Soun of Music movie was also re-aired Dec. 26 as the ABC Sunday Movie of the Week.



Sound of Music cast prsent during the reunion were stars Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, along with fellow cast members Charmian Carr (Liesl), Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich), Heather Menzies-Urich (Louisa), Duane Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright (Brigitta), Debbie Turner (Marta) and Kym Karath (Gretl). The Sound of Music cast reunion was an hour-long broadcast on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
