Lady Gaga Meat Dress at the VMA 2010: The Real Reason

Lady Gaga Meat Dress at the VMA 2010 - If this is not disgusting enough then what is? The famous singer and multi-awarded Lady Gaga wear a "meat dress" at the MTV Video Music Awards 2010. Lady Gaga won 8 awards of the 17 awards up for grabs.

The Lady Gaga meat dress was design by Franc Fernandez, the same designer who made her diamond headpiece in the video for “Bad Romance,” which picked up seven of the singer’s eight VMA wins last night.

PETA, the animal rights advocate was quick to react on Lady Gaga's dress and released an official statement condemning her. "“Meat is the decomposing flesh of a tormented animal who didn’t want to die, and after a few hours under the TV lights, it would smell like the rotting flesh it is and likely be crawling in maggots — not too attractive, really,” said PETA.

Lady Gaga also reacted to the issue during the Ellen DeGeneres show and revealed the real reason for his meat dress. She said that it is a campaign against the US military's Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy.

"It is a devastation to me that I know my fans who are gay ... feel like they have governmental oppression on them. That's actually why I wore the meat tonight," she said.

DeGeneres might not be convinced with Lady Gaga's reason but I believe that she has the right to wear what he wants as long as it is done legally. What do you think about this issue?
