ESPY Awards 2010 Winners and Highlights



ESPY Awards 2010 @ Nokia Theatre - The ESPN Annual Sports Awards or popularly known as the ESPYs was concluded today at the Nokia Theatre. The ESPY Awards 2010 bring tribute to the greates sporting events and personalities for 2010. Among the most awarded in the ESPYs this year are Landon Donovan and Drew Brees.

Landon Donovan, the USA soccer player who scored the winning goal against Algeria to make the USA advance to the Round of 16 in the World Cup 2010 was recognized as the 2010 Best Sports Moment, Castrol Edge Performance Under Pressure Award, and Best Major League Soccer Player.

Drew Brees was given credit in the following categories: Best Championship Performance - Super Bowl XLIV, Best Male Athlete, and Best National Football League (NFL) player. Brees edges out NBA stars JKobe Bryant and LeBron James, as well as NASCAR's Jimmie Johnson, and Major League Baseball's Alber Pujools to win the most coveted Best Athlete.

The nominees for the ESPY Awards were selected by a nominating committee and then the votes for the final nominees will be opened to the public. Sportswriters, broadcasters, sports executives, and sportspersons, collectively experts; or ESPN personalities also vote.
