2011 Ford Explorer Out in the Market (Check out Photos)


Ford had come up with a design that puts together luxury, comfort, technology, fuel efficiency and ecofriendliness. The 2011 Ford Explorer has all that. It will save you 20% in fuel, help you park your car, avoid accidents and provide you with luxury cars technology at the price of an intermediate SUV price.

To create hype on the 2011 Ford Explorer, they spread the new design and announced the availability in the market through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Ford Marketing team also fanned out to nine American cities to show off the new SUV. They also appeared on popular TV shows such as NBC's "Today" and CNBC's "Squawk Box."

The new 2011 Ford Explorer was seen to enhance and continue the growing sales of Ford. Ford had just released its second quarter profit pegged at $2.6-billion.


Ford announced the following power capacity of the 2011 Ford Explorer:

The 2011 Ford Explorer will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine developing 290 hp and 255 lb.-ft. of torque that promises to offer the best in class fuel economy with a 5,000 pounds towing capability. The 2011 Ford Explorer will also be made available with an EcoBoost 2.0-liter I-4 engine developing 237 hp at 5,000 rpm and 250 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,700 and 4,000 rpm. The 2011 Ford Explorer will be offered with a unique six-speed transmission and a SelectShift Automatic transmission on the XLT and Limited trim levels.
