Sesame Street is well known for its Muppets characters created by Jim Henson. It premiered on November 10, 1969 and this year, Sesame Street is celebrating its 40th year.
Sesame Street has a total of 36 seasons and 4,186 episodes so far. It is the longest running children's program perhaps not only in the United States but in the world.
