Arroyo Declares Aquino’s Funeral and Burial on August 5 a Holiday
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared Wednesday, August 5 as a special non-working holiday. August 5 is also the funeral and burial day of the remains of former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino.
This will allow the nation to witness the moments before she is brought to her final resting place beside her late husband, Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. at the Manila Memorial Park.
Also, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo yesterday declared a 10-day period of national mourning from August 1 to August 10 over the death of Aquino through Proclamation No. 1850.
