Many people prefer to eat well polished white rice instead of brown rice. That is because brown rice has harder texture and is not as palatable as white rice. Experts, however, keep on recommending brown rice because it contains more vitamins, minerals and fiber. It contains a lot of B vitamins like B1, B2, B6, etc. One way to make brown rice more palatable and even more nutritious is to sprout the dehusked grains. According to Dr. Marissa V. Romero, head of the Rice Chemistry and Food Science Division of PhilRice, sprouting brown rice will not only make it more palatable, it will also make it more nutritious. How?
